Overview
Life at the Harbor is designed to give each new arrival a feeling of security, because until that happens there cannot be any adjustment or growth. Each child needs to know what is expected of him or her in terms of rules, routines, limits and boundaries.
For each child, an evaluation is conducted and a plan of service developed. Answers to questions determine if he or she is passing in school. If not, the Harbor explores what needs to be done to reach that goal. A health evaluation includes physical, vision and hearing exams. A psychological evaluation is also done.
The true essence of life at the Harbor is the children living in a family environment with house parents. This sense of security results in positive behavior. This family life also provides the campus with a strong sense of community.
